What is cross-selling and what are its advantages?

When we talk about cross-selling first of all, we must mention the specific nature of the relationship marketing. Relationship marketing is based on the principle that it is more profitable to retain a good customer than to acquire another one, and to achieve this, one of the key aspects is the offer the customer a product or service that provides value. This is where the notion of cross-selling emerges strongly.

La venta cruzada consiste en a la táctica de vender productos complementarios a los que consume o pretende consumir un cliente determinado. Volvemos a destacar la importancia de la información aportada por nuestros usuarios/clientes. Saber bucear en esta enorme cantidad de información de la que podemos disponer es la clave para aumentar el rendimiento económico de una base de datos de clientes actuales o potenciales.
La venta cruzada no es solo una apuesta segura para la empresa, sino un importante aporte de valor al usuario. Si a un usuario que acaba de comprar un ordenador le ofrecemos los periféricos disponibles,  aumentamos la posibilidad de compra del usuario porque estamos aportándole la información correcta en el momento oportuno. Se trata de dar en la diana del interés del usuario para potenciar las ventas.
Estrategias de venta cruzada unidas a una correcta segmentación de la base de datos (gracias a este historial de comportamiento) pueden resultar en importantes incrementos de conversión y facturación. Multitud de ejemplos y estudios ponen de manifiesto la efectividad de la venta cruzada.
